Barcelona has apparently begun looking for a replacement for Antoine Griezmann, who is expected to leave the club on deadline day.
The Blaugrana are reportedly close to finalizing a loan agreement with Atletico Madrid, which would see the 30-year-old return to Los Colchoneros after leaving for Barcelona in 2019.
Ronald Koeman’s side would reportedly instantly swoop for a new attacker to replace Griezmann, who joined for £108 million and has 22 goals for the Camp Nou outfit.
According to Sky Sports, Barcelona has targeted Sevilla striker Luuk De Jong as a possible replacement in the forward line, with the Andalusian club eager to consider a transfer following the acquisition of Rafa Mir from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
After scoring 28 goals and eight assists in 34 Eredivisie games for PSV Eindhoven in the 2018-19 season, the Dutch international moved to Spain and has scored 10 goals in 69 La Liga appearances since then, winning the Europa League in 2020.
